Designed by the great French-British engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, as two great 455-ft spans, the difficulty of its construction rates it as one of Brunel’s greatest railway achievements. Opened by Prince Albert in 1859, it was completed the year of the great engineer’s death. The intention of this site is to present my research into The Royal Albert Bridge and Saltash Station. My plan is to eventually produce a model of the bridge to the scale of 2mm to 1 foot, with 2mm Finescale trains running on a track gauge of 9.42mm. I’m not yet certified insane…
